The curriculum is designed to give age appropriate outcomes as the student progresses to different levels from preschool to high school.
The curriculum focuses on cognitive and motor skills in the preschool, concepts in the primary school and practical approach in middle school.
At the high school level, the focus of the curriculum is to prepare students for the Board examination and college.
LCS Education Model
L.C.S. considers Creativity as an important outcome of learning. Creativity not only exists in visual and performing arts but also in languages and subjects like math, science and business.
At L.C.S. all the subjects have the same weight and views them as diversity of intelligences.
L.C.S. has adopted the maverick approach to divergent thinking which is an essential capacity for creativity. It is the art of finding multiple answers to one question, interpreting a question in many ways, thinking laterally and not just in linear or convergent ways
The LCS is emphatic about providing child-centric education, and keeping this in mind, we offer learning that is both interactive and experiential. The teaching methodology is a diverse mix of the most recent innovations in education and is based on the latest findings in tutoring research.
We realise that a single method cannot suit everyone. Our teachers select the best combination of various approaches according to the learning styles and needs of their students.
Kindergarten Education Model
Kindergarten is the first experience of the child in a structured setting with teachers and groups of children.
The curriculum for Pre Primary - KG1 and KG2, would be play-based and child centered recognizing the students’ multiple intelligences and encouraging creative thinking. A day at the Pre Primary would involve much free play, both indoors and outdoors, and structured time. Indoor free play would be based around a series of activities such as Dramatic Play, Sensorial Learning, Choice Time Activities, Role Play, Art and Discovery Hour/Wonder Time.
Primary Classes Education Model
Primary School would cover a period of four years - Grade I to IV, during which the basic skills in all subjects would further be enhanced and higher level skills would be introduced to challenge students and stimulate their interest. Primary School curriculum focusses on the spirit of exploration and acquiring sound language skills, clarity of mathematical concepts and understanding of scientific concepts.
Learning is enriched by a number of activities like drama, story telling, poetry, music, I.T., discussions and a wide range of artistic and hands on activities.
Middle Classes Education Model
In the Middle School years - Grade VI to VIII, the students would gain a deeper understanding of important concepts, develop research and experimental skills and learn to accept personal responsibility for actions, decisions and outcomes. Our students are encouraged to be critical thinkers, independent and collaborative learners throughout their lives. Classroom and lab work are strengthened with educational trips. Additionally, students gain the skills they’ll need for the rest of their academic careers through projects. Students complete their projects in school by making full use of wide-ranging library collection. Along with these essential Scholastic areas, the rich and varied Co-Scholastic program at LCS would include exchange programs, educational trips and community service.
